MEDELA

Medela Inc. came to America in the 1980's as a subsidiary of a Swiss company by the same name.
THE SYMPHONY

The Symphony, is Medela's newest addition to the breast pump line. The Symphony offers two pattern pumping that mimics the way that a baby nurses. The pump starts with a "faster" phase and then changes to a "slower" phase after two minutes. If mom lets down more quickly, she can change the pumping phase with the touch of a button.

The Symphony offers the performance of the Classic in a lighter more portable pump. Additionally, the Symphony can be rented with an internal battery if electricity is not readily available.

Lightweight, efficient and quiet - everything that mothers have been requesting in a breast pump.

THE CLASSIC

The Classic, or 015, as it was originally called, is a medical grade, automatic cycling breast pump. The Classic is found on the floors of many hospitals.

The Classic is the pump of choice when the baby is not feeding well at the breast - either because the baby is not well or the mother is not well.

The Classic, along with its Hollister equivalent, is considered the "top of the line." The "Cadillac" of breastpumps.

The Classic is available for rental - you may have to look a bit harder to find one but they are out there.

THE LACTINA SELECT

The Lactina entered the market in 1989. Its purpose was to provide the working woman with a compact, portable electric breastpump.

The Lactina, in the ensuing years, has gone through a number of transformations. The most current version is the Lactina Select. The Lactina Select allows a mother to control both the suction and the speed at which the pump operates.

The basis for these developments is that the "closer" a mother can come to "imitating" what her baby does at the breast, the easier it will be for her to pump.

The Lactina Select is the pump of choice for the mother who is returning to work outside the home who need her pump to be portable and easy to handle.

The Lactina Select is available for rental. The Lactina Select weighs approximately six pounds.

THE PUMP IN STYLE

The Pump In Style was designed specifically for working women. It has automatic cycling, suction and speed control.

The Pump in Style contains a compartment for milk storage and a compartment for storing the kit. The pump comes with the kit and cooling elements.

The Pump in Style is the pump of choice for the women who has already established lactation. It it an economical option to renting.

THE TRAVELER
The Pump in Style is now also available as the Traveler which can be worn on your back.

THE SPRING EXPRESS

The Spring Express is a manual pump with "spring assisted" pumping action. The spring in the pump cylinder helps make manual pumping easier by assisting in the return motion.

The Spring Express is the pump of choice for short term occasional pumping.
